The
youth ministry at Gospel Community Church assists parents by partnering with
them in their God - given role of teaching and training their children to, know
God, cultivate Christ-likeness, apply scriptural truth to daily life, and serve
God and others.
Know God
God longs for people to know Him (Hosea 6:6).
God has revealed Himself to us
through creation (Romans 1:20), the Person of Jesus Christ
(John 1:14),
and His infallible Word.
Our desire is that our teens not only have knowledge
in their minds about God, but also know
God in their heart, and have a
relationship with Jesus Christ (Jeremiah 9:23-24).
Cultivate Christ-Likeness
This is the God-ordained goal for each of His
children (Romans 8:29).
This can only take place as we abide in Him
(John 15:4).
Our desire is to help our teens act and think
like God wants them to act and think (Philippians2:5).
Apply Scriptural Truth to Daily Life
It is the source for true happiness and wise
decision-making (John 13:17; 2 Timothy 3:15).
Failure to heed it has devastating consequences
(Matthew 7:24-27).
Our desire is to see our teens obey God and
enjoy His blessing (Joshua 1:8).
Serve God and Others
This focus conquers the natural
self-centeredness of our age (Philippians 2:20-21).
This is a distinguishing mark of leadership
(Matthew 20:26-27).
Our desire is that God would develop a servant's
heart in our teens (Luke 22:27).
We
intend to impart this training through easily to apply teaching, praise &
worship, community service targeted
through short-term missions and special
events just as retreats and youth service nights.
We get together
every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
